Why did the airfare increase when I tried to book my flight?

Based on demand and availability, airfares can change minute by minute. Seat inventory in a specific booking class (fare) may sell out between the time of your flight search and original reservation. Airlines then sell their available seats at a higher price. Faremart monitors these changes closely and makes every effort to keep inventory and fares in the listings as current as possible.

What is "Price Match Challenge"?

When you make a booking with Faremart, we want you to be confident and satisfied that you have found the best deal. Hence, if you see a lower price (including taxes and fees) for the same flight itinerary available for booking on a Major OTA Competitor’s site same day of the booking up to 10 PM, we will match that lower price by refunding the difference in price or if you prefer, cancel your reservation with us for a full refund.

The “same itinerary” means that all the elements of each offer matches such as airline(s), flight number(s), itinerary, date(s), number of customers, and seat type.

“Offered and available for booking” means that the itinerary you found is live on a Major OTA Competitor’s site and available to be booked by the general public at the time you get in touch with us, as determined by our customer service representatives. What does the message "Sold Out" mean when the flight shows available on the flight listing page on the Faremart’s website?

Airfares keep getting updated every minute based on demand and availability. Seat inventory in a specific booking class (fare) may sell out between the time of your flight search and original reservation. Airlines then sell their available seats at a higher price. Faremart monitors these changes closely and makes every effort to keep inventory and fares in the listings as current as possible.

Can I hold a reservation?

As per the airline regulations, we cannot hold any reservations or bookings. Also, to ensure you get the discounted fare you found on Faremart, you need to purchase the ticket(s) immediately. Airfares are not assured until ticketed.

How do I request for a special meal for my flight?

Some airlines no longer offer a meal service or charge for in-flight meals. However, you have the option to request for a special when you purchase tickets online or another way to do so is by calling the airline directly. Special meal requests must be made at least 24-hours before the scheduled departure. These requests are at the discretion of the airline and are not guaranteed.

How do I book a flight for an infant?

Infants, under the age of 24 months, traveling within the United States travel free of cost as long as they are seated on an adult's (over 18 years) lap. Only one infant is allowed to travel as a lap child per adult (over 18 years). In most circumstances, infants traveling internationally will be required to pay a percentage of the adult fare, plus taxes and carry a paper ticket even though they are traveling on the adult's lap. Infant tickets cannot be purchased online. To book an infant ticket, please contact our customer support team.

Can you email a quote for flights?

As the demand goes up, flights fill up throughout the day, leading to frequent changes in the airfares. Fares are not guaranteed until ticketed. So, we are unable to quote any fares via email. To know more about the latest fares, please get in touch with our customer support team.

Can I select my seat based on preference? If yes, How?

Yes, you can request your preferred seat at the time of booking. To do so, please call our customer support number.

Why am I receiving an error message that my credit card information does not match what is in my credit card company's records?

Details such as your name, credit card number, address, and zip code you entered must match with those appearing on your credit card statement. Please contact your credit card company and confirm the information you're entering is the same as they have in their records. Alternatively, you may try and book your reservation with another credit card. If you do not have another credit card, please contact our Customer Service team for assistance. We do accept all credit cards including cards issued outside the U.S.

Can I call Faremart directly to make a reservation?

Yes. Faremart offers phone assistance 24-hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days a year to cater to your travel needs. Please contact our Customer Support team.

Do you offer reservations for last-minute travel?

Some bookings may require up to three business days to process; hence, you may not be able to book last-minute flights online. However, you may contact our Customer Support team.

Can I make a reservation arriving into one city and returning from another city?

In case you are flying into one city and returning from another, multi-city option might be available. To check its availability, please call our customer support team.

Are taxes included in the airfares listed on the site?

Most of the flight fares listed now include all taxes and airline fees associated with the ticket price as per the new rules. The ticket price includes the base airfare and U.S. and applicable taxes.

Can I book an itinerary with a stopover?

Yes, you can. Many airfares allow stopover(s). Just click on the "Multiple Cities" tab on the "Flight Search" screen and proceed to book your itinerary.

What is the maximum number of travelers that I can book online in one reservation?

Are the airfares guaranteed?

All airfares are subject to change without prior notice and are not guaranteed till payment has been received, and tickets have been issued. In the event of a technical error leading to an incorrect fare to be displayed on the website, we hold the right to advise you on the correct fare within three business days of your booking. You may choose to accept the new fare or cancel your reservation. For more detailed information, please read the section- Terms and Conditions Agreement.

Can I book an unaccompanied minor on Faremart?

Although most airlines allow unaccompanied minors to travel on their flights, we suggest you contact the airline directly to verify all rules, restrictions, and costs regarding unaccompanied minor travel before booking your ticket. To book a reservation, you can call our customer support team.

How do I make changes to an existing booking?

To make any changes to your existing booking, please get in touch with our Customer Support team. Kindly note that airlines charge a separate fee per ticket including any difference in fare for any changes requested, however, it can vary from flight to flight. Additional rules and conditions may apply such as:

  • The same airline must be used
  • Traveler's name cannot be changed
  • Original booking must be cancelled before the original departure date and time
  • Changes may not be entertained in case of routing, dates or other details
  • Some airlines may not permit any changes even with a fee

What is the amount of fee charged for changing my airline ticket?

Some penalties may apply while changing your ticket such as:

  • Extra penalties imposed by the airline
  • Additional charges resulting from the new ticket having a higher fare
  • A Faremart service fee will be applied for making the alterations on your behalf

Please note some airlines may not allow any changes even with a fee.

I have a confirmed booking but do not have a seat assignment. Does it mean I will not have a seat when I reach the airport?

Please note that airlines do not pre-assign 100% seats of any aircraft. Along with Bulk Head and Emergency Exit row seating, there are also seats left unassigned for other airline employees, frequent flyer account holders, etc. So, if you have a confirmed reservation, but do not have a seat assignment, it is essential you reach the airport at least three hours before your scheduled departure time, as you will be assigned a seat only by airport ticket/gate personnel and on a first come, first serve basis.

Can I make a name change to my flights?

Please note that all reservations must be made in the exact and original name of the person traveling, no nicknames. For both domestic and international travel, the name mentioned at the time of reservation must match with the name appearing on the traveler's government issued identification or passport. Airlines do not allow name changes due to heightened Homeland Security rules. In the event of a spelling error in the name, please contact our Customer Support team for assistance.

What to do if I lose my paper ticket?

In the majority of cases, airlines require you to buy replacement tickets at the current fare. If your original tickets are not used after a specific period (generally 6 to 12 months depending on the airline), you will receive a credit for the purchase price of the replacement tickets minus the application fee. This fee is typically $100.00 per traveler but may vary by airline. Please note that these policies and fees are subject to change at any time. Will I get new tickets for my flights if there has been a schedule change on my itinerary?

Faremart makes every attempt to inform you of flight changes via email or phone, but we are not always aware of these changes made by the airline. Hence, we suggest you reconfirm your itinerary directly with the airline at least 72 hours before the departure. Kindly note, once you have accepted a schedule change from the airline (either by speaking with one of our agents or with a representative of the airline), you will be required to pay any applicable penalties and fees for the requested future changes. However, you will not be charged any fees or penalties if an airline has changed your flight schedule without your request.

Will I get a refund if I cancel my flight?

Please note that most of the discounted airline tickets are non-refundable. Although they are economical, they are restrictive too. Hence you will not get a refund if you cancel your flight. Refund restrictions are mentioned on our website. We strongly recommend you to read and agree to our Terms and Conditions before booking any reservation. Once you cancel a booking, you are subject to the terms of the cancellation, as documented in our "Terms and Conditions."

The flight confirmation page shows the wrong date of my itinerary. How do I change it?

If you find that the date of your itinerary is wrong, you must immediately contact our Customer Support team.

The booking confirmation e-mail that I have received shows that the airline does not guarantee the booking, what does that mean?

If the email confirmation indicates a pending status, it means that the airline has not confirmed the booking yet. Once your credit card has been charged with the amount and tickets are issued, you will receive an e-mail with the confirmed itinerary.

My confirmation shows "Paper Ticket" but I have not yet received any paper ticket. When will I receive this?

A paper ticket is usually sent in 2 to 3 business days after the reservation has been made successfully. You will receive the courier's tracking number as a confirmation. In case you have not received your paper tickets and your departure is nearing, please contact our Customer Support team.

I made a booking online. How do I know if this is a paper ticket or an e-ticket?

During reservation, you will be informed whether you will receive an e-ticket or a paper ticket. In case the type of your ticket changes due to some technical issues, Faremart will notify you within 24 hours of your booking. However, when booking multiple airlines that don’t have any ticketing agreements, we must issue a paper ticket. In such a scenario, we will notify you through an email.

When should I confirm my reservation?

To reconfirm your reservation, please contact the airline at least 72 hours before your scheduled flight departure. Also, you must reconfirm your Return flights, within the same time frame.

Do my unused or partially used airline tickets have any value?

Partially used tickets are of no value. In some cases, unused tickets may be exchanged for a new ticket (subjected to the policies of the airline). But, if you don’t show up for the flight, your unused ticket will not hold any value.

Do I have the option of adding more passengers to an existing booking?

To add more passengers, the only way is to make a new reservation. Since fares are subject to change every moment; Faremart does not guarantee the availability of the original fare or flight.

How do I travel with an E-Ticket (Electronic Ticket)?

Most airlines now offer e-tickets or electronic tickets which allows you to travel without worrying about the loss or theft of your paper tickets. But, when traveling with e-tickets, ensure to carry government-issued photo identification (such as a passport or driver's license) with you to the airport.

However, you need to have your printed boarding pass up to 24 hours in advance to proceed through the security checkpoint. If you have checked-in with your baggage online or have e-tickets, you must go to the ticket counter to obtain your boarding pass.

What are the baggage limitations for the flights I book?

Many U.S. airlines have changed their baggage allowance for both cabin/carry-on bags and check-in luggage. And some carriers are now charging a fee for the second bag as well as for the carry-on luggage. To get the updated information on the baggage restrictions, please call the airlines directly.

What happens to my checked-in baggage when I change flights?

If you are changing flights and your airline has a baggage agreement, your baggage will be checked all the way through to your final destination. In case, there is no baggage agreement, it will be your responsibility to go to Baggage Claim at the very first airport from where you are changing your flight to claim your bags. From there, you must check-in your baggage again for the next flight.

How do I know if my airlines have a baggage agreement?

Please look for baggage alert in your itinerary. If you have one, it means the airlines do not have baggage agreement. Please call the airline you are flying, and confirm whether your baggage will be checked to your final destination or if you will have to claim your luggage when you change planes.

What happens if I miss my departure flight?

If you miss your departure flight, the airline has the right to mark your ticket as a "No Show" reservation. It means your ticket has no value and cannot be changed or refunded, even with a penalty. If you are on your way to the airport and feel you might miss your flight, you must call the airline immediately to avoid the situation of "No Show."

If you've boarded your departure flight, but have missed the subsequent flight, you should go to the nearest ticket counter of your airline as soon as possible. In case you've missed your flight you were supposed to change to due to a problem that is within the airline's control, they should provide you with a reservation in the very next available flight. If the reason for missing a flight is not within the airline's control (weather, air traffic, etc.) or due to your fault, it will be left entirely up to the airline's discretion to protect you or not. If the airline decides that protection is not acceptable, it will be up to the passengers to find their way to their final destination at their own expense.

Important: If you miss any of your flights, all consequent flights in the same itinerary will also be canceled under the "No Show" policy.

What if I am unable to travel and decide not to show up at the airport? Will my ticket be refundable or changeable?

If you are not able to travel, you must call the airline or us immediately. If you decide to "just not show up" your reservation will be marked as a "No Show" and all penalties and restriction mentioned in the previously answered question will apply to you.

What are the necessary documents required to travel?

The documentation varies according to the city you're departing from, the city you are traveling to, where you are changing planes and what country your passport has been issued under. To know more in detail about such requirements, we advise you to call the airline you are traveling from. Based on your communication with the airline, you will get to know what all documents you need such as a visa, passport or further documentation. Please note carrying necessary documents is the sole responsibility of the passenger, and neither Faremart nor the airline will be held liable if you do not present sufficient or valid travel documents or identification at the airport. In such a case, you will be denied boarding by the airline.

Are there any additional fees or taxes that are not included in the price of the air ticket(s)?

Besides the baggage fees, there are two more types of payment- Airport Entry and Exit fee charged by the individual airports and are not collected by the travel agency or the airline. Such fees are usually collected during the immigration and customs process, but, to verify whether there is an extra fee to be paid, you must call the airline you are flying with.

Can I earn frequent flyer miles on the tickets?

Please note that most of our airfares allow accumulation of frequent flyer miles, but, there are some exceptions.

Can I use frequent flyer miles to get an upgrade or avail further discount?

No, as per our specially priced contract fares, you cannot use frequent flyer miles for any upgrades or get a further discount. Additionally, frequent flyer miles must be exchanged directly with the airline you have an account with or with your credit card company.

I have the airline’s discount coupon/voucher, can it be used for buying an air ticket?

No, you cannot use airline vouchers or discount coupons to purchase air tickets.

I want to travel with my pet, are there any restrictions?

In case, you are planning to travel with your pet, please contact the airline directly for detailed information on the same. However, here are some guidelines associated with it:

  • There are restrictions related to the size of pets and the number allowed on each flight.
  • Traveling with a pet (except a guide dog) calls for special handling by the airline crew; hence, an additional fee will apply for this service which may vary depending on the different airlines.
  • Your pet may travel in the baggage compartment of your flight but there are some restrictions depending on the anticipated temperature compartment that may vary from airline to airline.
  • There are certain limitations for cages and other shipping containers such as size, ventilation, strength, sanitation, and design for safe handling. You must meet the criteria if traveling with your pet.
  • You will need to obtain the health certificate of your pet for air travel. Please check with your Veterinarian for more information.
  • Additionally, there are restrictions by many airlines related to breeds in dogs such as Pugs, Pekingese, Boxers and in cats (Persians) as they might find it difficult to breathe at high altitudes.

What can be the reason for the change in my flight schedule?

There can be minor changes that may involve a change of aircraft, flight number, or in departure and arrival time. In the case of severe, there may be a change in the date of travel, departure city, arrival city, or even discontinued service to your destination city. However, Faremart will try to notify you of any schedule changes. Since such changes are unpredictable, Faremart suggests its customers verify departure times and flight numbers by contacting the airlines directly 24 to 72 hours before the scheduled departure.

What if I have a confirmed flight reservation and the airline changes my itinerary, will I be notified?

Sometimes, airlines may make changes to their flight schedules. Faremart will make every effort to notify you via e-mail or by phone before the original scheduled departure time if there is a substantial change in your itinerary.

Please note that you will not be notified via an email in case of minor schedule changes that do not have a significant impact on your itinerary. These may include, but are not limited to:

  • Change in the number of flight
  • Flight Departure time changes less than 11 minutes earlier
  • Flight Departure time changes less than 20 minutes later

What are Published, Bargain, and Exclusive fares?

Published Fares refer to the fares that are available for sale by the airline.

Bargain Fares are discounted fares available for sale by the airline.

Exclusive Fares are specially negotiated fares with the airlines and are available only on our website.

What happens when "Exclusive fares" are sold out?

Once "Exclusive Fares" are sold out, the price of the ticket changes to the next highest fare level. If you are flexible with your travel dates, you can try entering new dates and search for suitable prices again as an "Exclusive Fare" may still be available for the same destination, but, on a different date. In case you are unable to find such fares, please contact our Customer Support team for assistance.

What if the "Exclusive Fares" are only available for one-way flights?

When the "Exclusive Fares" are sold out in one of the directions, the price of the ticket will move to the next highest fare level. If you are flexible regarding your travel dates, please try selecting new dates to look for exclusive fares that may be available for the same destination, but on a different date. If still not able to locate such fares, we suggest you contact our Customer Support team for assistance.

What is a Prepaid Ticket Advice (PTA) and how does it work?

Prepaid Ticket Advice is a system where a message is sent to the airline for issuing the paper tickets at the airport. This is applicable in cases where paper tickets cannot be delivered to the customer's address or in some instances due to some countries rules and regulations we are unable to issue you an electronic ticket.

Once the PTA has been sent to the airline for your booking, we will email you one PTA number for all passengers involved in the reservation. You will have to provide this number at the airline ticket counter upon check-in at the airport to obtain the paper ticket(s).

Please note that a PTA service fee of $150.00USD will be added to the "Airline Fees and Taxes" amount to cover this cost.

Do you offer any Military discounts?

Faremart offers various special discounts and deals including military discounts. Since most airlines offer discounted airfares for Military-ID cardholders or active duty personnel, you can opt for these tickets to grab a good deal.

Do you offer any Senior citizen discounts?

Adults over the age of 65 may be eligible for senior citizen discounts, but it is subjected to airlines’ policies. As many domestic airlines no more offer a senior discount and not all international carriers provide such discounts. In case, there is a senior discount available it will show up while booking online.

What is the difference between an adult, senior and children fares?

Adult fares are for travelers age between 18 and 64.

Senior travelers fall under the age group of 65 and above. Fares may not be discounted on all flights.

Children are travelers aged between 2 and 17. Please note most airlines charge full fares to children older than 11.

Infants are children under the age of 2.

Lap - adults traveling in your group may hold the infant(s) throughout the flight without opting for a separate seat. Infants in laps usually ride for free on domestic flights, but, on most international flights, you will need to pay a fee for the same. There are special fares charged for the seats reserved for infants. Please check with the airline directly for more information.

What is the difference between a round trip, one way, and multi-destination?

Round trip means flying from one location to another and returning to the first location.

One way means flying from one location to another, and not returning to the first location.

Multiple destinations mean visiting several locations by choosing flights between each of those locations.

What are the different classes of service and flight options available on the plane?

However, some airlines may use different names to describe their classes of service, here are some common terms used:

Coach/Economy Class is seating is in the main cabin area which is the most economical.

Business Class- The seating in such a cabin is quite spacious, allowing you to recline farther and giving more leg space. It also offers an upgraded meal service. Business class tickets are costly than Economy class but less than First Class.

First class seating is the most expensive and located very close to the front part of the aircraft. It has limited but most comfortable seats and offers upgraded meals. Other perks include shorter check-in queues and access to the airline's airport business lounge. Please note that not all aircraft offer this kind of seating arrangement.

Flight options include:

Nonstop flights: Check this box if you want to see fares only for flights that do not stop or provide the opportunity of changing planes at one or more airports before you reach your final destination.

Connecting flights: Flights may have one or more landings and departures. Passengers will have to get off the plane and re-board another flight to reach the final destination.

Stops but no plane change flights: These flights may have up to 2 landings and departures that may not be disclosed upon booking, but you are not allowed to change the planes.

What are the ticket terms and conditions?

  • Faremart shall not be liable for the failure of travel service suppliers, including but not limited to airlines, hotels, steamship lines, railroads, car rental agencies, tour operators and consolidators to perform the services offered by such suppliers.
  • Faremart does not guarantee or ensure the services to be provided by any supplier, the financial position of such suppliers or the reimbursement to you from any loss experienced as a result of the financial condition of such supplier. If a supplier defaults before providing the service to you for which payment has been made, the sole recourse for refund shall be with the defaulting supplier, from insurance covering such defaults if any or from other responsible third parties unless Faremart caused such.
  • In an event when a supplier defaults before providing services, you may pursue any recourse against the supplier for refund, which may be permitted by law or statute.
  • Faremart warrants that it provides the highest standards of service in the trade and will use appropriate care in selecting suppliers to protect you from such default. Except as expressly stated herein, Faremart holds no responsibility for actions relating to travel services beyond the control of Faremart or its employees.
  • Faremart is not liable for any act, error, omission, injury, loss, accident, damage, delay, nonperformance, irregularity, or any consequence thereof, which may be occasioned through neglect, or default or any other act or inaction of any supplier of Travel products.
  • Faremart shall not be liable for any fluctuation in price or change in schedule or equipment or accommodations for any travel service, which occurs after payment for such service.
  • Faremart acts as a service bureau that provides value-added service to retail travel agents.
  • Faremart has no control over and assumes no liability for the actions of the suppliers from whom it obtains travel products. For your, convenience Faremart has included its service bureau fee in the fare quoted to you. Our service bureau fee may vary depending on many factors, including the market conditions, the amount of savings we pass on to you, the time and effort we spend on locating the tickets you request at the best prices, upgrades applied if any, your form of payment, etc.
  • Discounts offered may vary depending on some factors including airlines utilized, class of service, destination, time of year (Low, mid or High Season), advance notice provided, minimum stay requirements fulfilled and flight load.

What documents will I need to carry to go through airport security?

In case of domestic flights, you will need your boarding pass, any government or state-issued photo ID such as a driver license or passport along with a copy of your itinerary/trip details. For all kinds of air travel outside the United States, a valid passport is required. Additionally, many countries also need a visa for entry. Do I need to re-confirm my flight?

Yes. You should re-confirm your domestic flight 24 hours in advance and international flight 72 hours in advance by calling the airline directly. Make sure to check for any schedule changes in your itinerary. Airlines reserve the right to cancel bookings if reservations are not reconfirmed, whether the tickets have been issued or not.

Do travelers need a visa to travel abroad on a one-way ticket?

Many countries require special documentation for entry with a one-way ticket. But for security reasons, some countries have added this condition recently. Passengers are responsible for securing any necessary entry documents before departure.

What is Secure Flight?

Secure Flight is a pre-screening program implemented by the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that streamlines the security watch list matching process. It collects passenger data, to improve the travel experience for all airline passengers.

What kind of passenger data is required for Secure Flight Program?

When making a reservation, you will be required to provide the following Secure Flight Passenger Data (SFPD) when traveling:

  • Full Name as it appears on government-issued ID that you will be traveling with.
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender
  • Redress Number (if available)

What is the objective of the Secure Flight Program?

A-The main objectives of the Secure Flight Program are to:

  • Detect known and suspected terrorists
  • Stop individuals on the No Fly List from boarding an aircraft
  • Subject individuals on the Selectee List to enhanced screening to determine if they are permitted to board a plane
  • Safeguard passengers’ privacy
  • Facilitate passenger air travel

What is a Redress Number?

Redress Number is a unique number which is assigned by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to a passenger who has been previously identified for screening at the airports.

Will I be able to fly if the name appearing on my boarding pass is not matching with what appears on my government ID?

Always make sure that the name you are providing at the time of booking matches the name in your government ID that you will use when traveling. As there is a difference in boarding pass systems, boarding passes may not always show the exact name you provided while making the reservation. However, the differences such as the use of a middle initial instead of a full middle name or no middle name/initial at all, hyphens or apostrophes should not lead to a problem for the passenger.

What does “Consolidator Fare” mean?

Consolidator Fares are generally 20-50% discounted than published fares, and they may have similar or more restrictions. Cancelations and Changes are usually more restricted, so if you are set on your dates do not worry about the conditions. You may want to purchase travel insurance.

Does Faremart offer Consolidator Fares?

Yes, Faremart offers Consolidator fares as "Exclusive Fares.”
