In domestic and international flights, the baggage allowance varies depending on the travel classes and is as follows:

• First Class & Business Class: For these classes, the maximum weight allowance is 32 Kgs. The dimension of the luggage should be less than or equal to 158 cm (L+B+H).
• Economy Class: The maximum weight allowance in Economy Class in 23 kgs. The maximum dimension of the baggage can 158 cm (L+B+H).

For infants, the maximum baggage allowance is based on their flights. However, the maximum dimension of the bag should remain 115 cm.

• For all flights except the USA: 10 kgs (all classes)
• For flights to/from the USA and Canada: 23 Kgs

Carry-on/ Hand Baggage

EgyptAir allows you to carry onboard one personal item like a handbag, laptop, backpack, etc. The maximum weight allowance depends on the fare class you are traveling in. Here’s the breakdown:

In domestic and international flights, passengers are allowed to carry a maximum of 8 kgs in the cabin. They can bring 2 pieces in First Class and Business Class and 1 piece in the Economy class.  Passengers can carry 1 foldable or collapsible stroller for infants.

Checked Baggage

In domestic and international flights, the checked baggage allowance varies according to the travel class. It is 32 kgs for the First and Business Class and 23 Kgs for the Economy Class. The dimension of the baggage should not exceed 158 cm (L+B+H) in any case. The allowance for infant’s baggage is 10 kgs (all classes) for all flights except the USA and Canada and 23 Kgs for flights to/from the USA and Canada. The maximum dimension of the item should remain 115 cm.

As per the cancelation policy of the airline, you can cancel a ticket and receive the full refund within 30 working days, if you have booked tickets in the United States.

The airline doesn’t charge anything extra to process the refund application, but only if the reservation is:

• Canceled within 24 hours of the purchase
• Booked 7 days ahead of the scheduled departure date

If you have made the payment by credit card, the airline will refund the amount within 7 days of cancelation. If you have paid for the ticket in cash, you need to visit the airline’s office. They will provide the refund immediately.

To cancel your EgyptAir flight, you need to visit the “My Booking” section from the menu available on the top right corner of the airline’s website. You can also contact the airline’s customer support service to cancel your reservations.

Only tickets bought 7 days before the scheduled departure date are subject to cancelation without any charges. To avoid any penalty, you will have to cancel the ticket within 24 hours of the booking.

Contact the nearest EgyptAir office or their E-service Center for more information on cancelation procedures, and in case the ticket has been bought from other modes.
• The refund is subject to the fare rules and the airline’s refund policy. Make sure you check the fare conditions when making any reservations with EgyptAir, as cancelation fee may apply to some fare types. The refund will be credited in around 21 days.

Yes, tickets of EgyptAir are refundable. Below is the process for requesting a refund:

• Click on the Contact Us tab on top of the EgyptAir website.
• Select and click on Online Refund.
• Enter your details, including name, email address, and identification number.
• Enter credit card information and ticket information to proceed with the refund process.
• Complete the form and submit.

Please note it can take 21 working days for the refund application to get processed. It may further take more time by the credit card company to credit the amount back into your account.

Weight allowance of the pets

According to the pet policy of the airline, below are the charges for live animals traveling on EgyptAir flights:  

• Pets weighing less than and up to 8 kgs will be charged at 150% of the applicable rate to/from Canada/USA and 100% of the applicable rate for other destinations.
• Pets weighing up to 23 Kgs, flying to/from the USA/ Canada they’ll be charged at 150% of the applicable rate whereas for all other destinations 100% of the applicable rates will be charged.

Yes, the airline offers lost and found service to help its passengers find the lost or forgotten items on the aircraft or at the airport terminal. Passengers are required to file the complaint related to the checked baggage within 7 days in case the baggage is damaged and within 21 days if there is a delay. According to EgyptAir’s unaccompanied minor policy,

• Children aged between 2 years and 12 years traveling without a parent, guardian, or sibling aged above 15 years or are traveling in a different class as them, are considered as unaccompanied minors (UMS) by the airline.
• The airline can also reserve a booking for young travelers as UMs who are more than 12 years and less than 16 years of age, on parent’s request.
• Minors who are under 2 years of age are not allowed to travel alone.

Parents must confirm the reservation of unaccompanied minors with the airline. They need to fill the ‘Unaccompanied Minor-UM’ form after online booking of ticket. They can contact the local EgyptAir office or their travel agent to fill the UM form. The child is required to present a valid age proof at the airport.

Fare Rules

• Children over the age of 2 years and under 6 years are subject to 100% of adult fare. Along with this, the one-way full adult fare also needs to be paid for the air hosts.
• Children more than 6 years of age and less than 12 years are subject to 100% of applicable adult fare.
• Young travelers over 12 years and less than 16 years are subject to 100% of applicable adult fare.
